Couldn’t We All Be a Little More Ted Lasso?

He’s back. Oh Ted, how we missed you.

Your relentless kindness, your signature humor, the pink boxes of homemade biscuits, and your sheer, unadulterated hatred of "hot brown water" (sorry, tea lovers).

But really? It’s the kindness.

One of the magic ingredients that makes Ted Lasso so very Ted is his unwavering commitment to one simple word: #BELIEVE. He believes in the team, he believes in the process, and above all, he believes in the good in people.

When volunteers step up to serve an association, they’re bringing that exact same spirit to the pitch. Volunteering isn't just about filling a seat at a committee meeting it comes from a place of genuine heart. We seek to give back. We seek to contribute to our craft, elevate our profession, and leave the jersey in a better place than we found it.

Tackling the Volunteer Experience

At Barcami Lane, we work hard behind the scenes to make sure that’s exactly what happens for the volunteers of our client organizations.

We know that volunteer burnout is real, and nobody wants to feel like they’re stuck in extra time without a game plan. Volunteering shouldn't feel like a penalty kick; it should be a pleasure! Our goal is to handle the heavy lifting, clear the field of friction, and create an environment where you can step up, score big, and feel truly fulfilled by the time you give.

As Ted would say:

"Taking on a challenge is a lot like riding a horse, isn't it? If you're comfortable while you're doing it, you're probably doing it wrong."

Serving a mission can definitely push us out of our comfort zones, but with the right support team on the sidelines, it becomes the most rewarding work you’ll ever do.

Living the Mission

When you have a team backing you up, you don't just meet the mission of your organization - you LIVE in it. You get to be a curious, enthusiastic force for good in your industry (and as a wise coach once advised, "Be curious, not judgmental").

So, as we dive into this next season of leadership, community-building, and professional growth, let's channel our inner Coach Lasso. Let’s support one another, practice grace when things don't go according to the playbook, and remember that every small effort moves the ball forward.

To all our incredible association volunteers: Thank you for stepping onto the field. We’re in your corner, cheering you on every step of the way—and we #BELIEVE in what you can achieve.
